High on the
Las Trampas
ridge,
overlooking
Danville,
Diablo and
Blackhawk,

Bob Anshen - artist,

visionary, preeminent

San Francisco architect

and founder of the firm

Anshen +Allen,
www.anshen.com

designed this work of

art in 1950.  Influenced

by Frank Lloyd Wright
and

Japanese architecture,

Anshen designed

the house to blend into

the landscape -

feng shui flow.

An  early

designer of  Eichler

homes, Anshen was at

the heart of the modern

movement in modern

architecture.

Horsley House,

a custom home,

has a polished cement

floor with copper pipe

radiant heat,

skylights, and built in

cabinets and appliances

Virtually everything is

custom made and hand

fitted.

One of the first estates

on private Montair

Drive,  the house is on

just over 1 1/2 acres

with an adjoining

empty  lot  below of

over 2 acres.

Horsley House has

unparallelled

and uninterrupted

views of Mt. Diablo.

Blacktail deer graze in

the meadow and sleep

beneath the giant oaks.

A flock of bandtail

pigeons, wings clapping

greet the morning sun.

Come inside and visit.

Walk through the woods

and look down into the

creek.
